The AESE Program is empowering students through food-based enrichment courses for a brighter future.
The Academy of Edible Sciences & Ethno-gastronomy (AESE), is designed to develop and empower local youth and refugee populations through food-based education and community enrichment courses for a brighter future.
AESE of San Diego will be involved in the community in a diverse number of areas, including S.T.E.A.M. and food science education, refugee and migrant immersion and work readiness, positive youth development and mental health, community small business support and growth, and ongoing food science research.
Our "school of food" mission:
To teach the integration of science and culinary arts as a relatable means for online and in-person STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) curriculum enrichment for local middle and secondary schools.
To develop the skills and social support for the improvement and immersion of the lives of our at-risk and displaced community members through food-based training programs and empowering social awareness through food heritage demonstrations.
To inspire our youth and community to hold enthusiasm and interest in science education, science research, and cultural awareness, all while helping build careers through the prism of food.
Calling ALL San Diego middle & secondary Science Teachers!
Please Take our Survey Below!
Your feedback and answers as a local Science Instructor is essential for the development of our program to effectively offer science programming locally that is both applicable and essential to the learning development of your students. This data will furthermore be of critical importance to show the need for our programming and secure the proper channels and levels of funding for its success and longevity.
We estimate this survey will take you an average of 5 minutes to complete with questions intended for use to investigate and document the local need, interests, and implementation of AESE's new science enrichment program, the Youth Test Kitchen (YTK), for local middle and secondary science teachers and their students.
You are free to answer or skip any of the questions in the survey. If you provide any identifying information, we guarantee the protection of your identity and will not use or publish any identifying information. Your name and e-mail will solely be used to create a potential client list for a follow-up of our services/ways for you to get involved.
